Technology Specialist
REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or a related field of study
- Desire and ability to quickly learn the fundamentals of a broad range of new technologies in technical discipline
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interpersonal skills necessary to communicate effectively with business leaders, attorneys, scientists and engineers, and patent examiners
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviewing technical disclosures and participating in client interviews to understand new inventions;
- Reviewing and analyzing technical literature and patent documents to establish patentability of an invention;
- Reviewing and analyzing patent documents to establish freedom-to-operate for client products;
- Drafting written assessments of the prospects of obtaining patent protection;
- Drafting patent applications;
- Preparing responses to communications ( office actions ) from the United States Patent and Trademark Office and other patent offices; and
- Reviewing patents and other materials as part of IP due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions.
