Responsibilities :

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse
  • Assist with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding
  • Take and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Assist with patient mobility and transfers
  • Observe and report any changes in patient condition to the nursing staff
  • Assist with medical procedures, such as phlebotomy and specimen collection
  • Maintain a clean and safe patient environment
  • Document patient care activities accurately and timely using electronic medical records (EMR) systems like Cerner

Requirements :

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a nursing assistant training program or equivalent experience
  • Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) in the state of employment
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic medical procedures
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting preferred
  • Familiarity with home care or senior care is a plus

Skills :

  • Spinal tap : Knowledge and experience in assisting with spinal tap procedures.
  • Home care : Familiarity with providing care in a home setting.
  • Cerner : Proficiency in using Cerner or similar electronic medical records systems.
  • Medical documentation : Ability to accurately document patient care activities.
  • Hospital : Experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Patient service : Commitment to providing excellent service to patients.
  • Patient assessment : Ability to assess patients' physical and emotional well-being.
  • Senior care : Understanding of the unique needs of elderly patients.
  • Primary care : Knowledge of primary care practices and procedures.
  • Phlebotomize : Skill in drawing blood samples for diagnostic testing.
