The Plant Manager for the Montebello, California facility plays a pivotal role in leading and coordinating activities at this essential Vinegar plant within the Kerry network.
This role presents a unique opportunity to lead a critical site undergoing significant investment and automation upgrades.
The successful candidate will oversee the daily operations of this key facility, leading a hands-on team of 15-20 employees.
Key responsibilities
In this role you will :
- Oversee production, regulatory compliance, inventory management, transportation, and delivery of products to the marketplace, capital expenditures, continuous improvement initiatives, recordkeeping, and benchmarking.
- Manage all operations to ensure compliance with Plant Quality Assurance Programs and support the implementation of a Zero Defects Quality Program.
- Supervise all plant capital expenditures, overseeing spending, and reporting to Corporate, with a focus on implementing new technologies and automation solutions.
- Provide direct supervision to the plant superintendent, offering guidance and support in daily operations and critical decision-making.
- Work closely with Plant Managers and key Stakeholders to develop a comprehensive strategy for fostering collaboration with other 6 vinegar plants across the Country.
- Monitor inventory levels of critical raw materials, coordinating timely orders to support smooth operations and storage utilization, especially in the context of upcoming automation.
- Perform any other duties as required and requested by Corporate, especially related to leading and implementing new technologies and automation.
- Monitor Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, ensuring seamless integration of new technologies and automation into plant operations while maintaining regulatory compliance.
Qualifications and skills
Education : A four-year college degree in a technical field (Engineering, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science, etc.) is required.
Engineering background is preferred.
Experience : A minimum of 8 years of experience in food or related manufacturing. Demonstrated leadership experience. Previous experience in managing continuous 24x7 operations preferred.

Compensation Data
The typical hiring range for this role is $125,000 to $159,000 annually and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.
