Performs thorough, systematic, comprehensive, and accurate patient assessments. Consistently demonstrates competent clinical skills and provides appropriate nursing care to the unit's patient population. Knowledge and skill in emergency equipment and procedures. Maintains complete and accurate documentation of nursing processes and patient progress, including patient education. Demonstrates professional practice responsibility and knowledge of policies and procedures. Promotes patient and family-centered care with professional, courteous, and positive interactions. Follows National Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and uses two patient identifiers. Demonstrates knowledge of surgical patient conditions, procedures, and equipment; individualizes care according to procedure and anesthesia type. Assesses patient reactions and understanding of procedures and instructions. Contributes to perioperative team by prioritizing patient care and responding to condition changes. Performs pre-operative and postoperative assessments and education, including patient and family teaching. Supports timely completion of patient testing and evaluates Pre Admission Testing orders for appropriateness. 1 year ICU experience required RN License required BLS certification required ACLS certification required ICU specialty Knowledge of surgical patient care and perioperative nursing functions
