JOB OVERVIEW
A professional driver who has acquired a commercial driver's license (Class A, CDL) to operate trucks or commercial vehicles to transport materials and heavy equipment.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drive and operate a variety of trucks and trailers with a gross weight over 26,001 lbs
- Follow instructions; review and read location and road maps
- Pre-inspect truck daily by following a checklist
- Pick up goods and materials, verify loads for accuracy, and deliver them as instructed throughout Wisconsin
- Load and unload cargo
- Responsible for basic vehicle maintenance
- Comply with all safe work practices, policies, and processes always
- Complete and verify paperwork for accuracy
- Home daily with local routes. Work 5 days a week, 8-hour shifts
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent, preferred
- CDL - Class A, required
- Understanding of traffic laws and DOT regulations
- Able to pass random drug tests
- No serious or preventable traffic violations or accidents while operating a commercial motor vehicle in the past three (3) years
- No convictions for DUI, DWI, OWI, or reckless driving involving drugs or alcohol in the past seven (7) years
PREFERRED SKILLS
- 2-3 years of Class A experience, preferred but not required
- Recent Grads welcome
- 21 years or older
- At least six (6) months of OTR experience
- Listening and verbal communication skills
- Professional attitude and dependable
- Forlift experience
