We are looking for a certified Nuclear Medicine technologist to cross train in PET / CT
The Technologist Trainee learns the safety, customer service skills, documentation and operation of PET / CT through on-the-job training under the direction of a registered technologist.
Specific duties include, but are not limited to :
Conducts pre-screening of all personnel before entering the magnet room to ensure their safety.
Scans and documents patients under the direction of a registered technologist to meet all customer (if applicable) and Akumin requirements.
Completes necessary documentation for patient files to ensure all customer, Akumin policy and Joint Commission requirements are met.
Other job duties as needed.
Position Requirements :
High School Diploma or equivalent experience required; Associate's Degree or equivalent experience preferred; Successful completion of a Radiology School required.
Certified by ARRT, NMTCB or ARDMS required.
State issued Radiologic Technologist License, if applicable required.
CPR certification required.
Valid state driver’s license, if applicable required.
Successful completion of a Radiology School.
Continuing education of the structure component to the PET / CT exam, if applicable.
Successful completion of a Radiology School.
Successfully demonstrate proficiency running advanced MR / CT studies independently preferred.
Technical proficiency using GE 1.5T or other designated vendor scanning equipment preferred.
Possession of venipuncture certification, or ability to secure within 3 months, if required by customer / contract preferred.
Ability to work at several locations
Strong customer service skills.
Organizational and multi-tasking skills.
Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs.
Local travel may be required.

Physical R equirements :
The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions during transport of patients if working on a mobile unit, a strong magnetic field and blood / body fluids and infectious disease.
