The Amazon MGM Studios Technology team is seeking a detail-oriented team player to join as a Sr. Financial Analyst in Culver City, CA.
This role will primarily be responsible for controllership and will provide support with financial analysis and long-range planning.
The Sr. Financial Analyst will ensure due diligence is completed before committing to spend by liaising between the technology single threaded owners (STOs), external vendors, Amazon Legal and Amazon Procurement teams.
This position also collaborates heavily with the Studios Technology Strategy team and will assist with defining metrics, ROI analysis and other ad-hoc reporting for various existing and proposed initiatives.
Key job responsibilities
Liaison between Procurement, Legal, STOs and vendors to validate budget, pricing, justification and requirements for all technology spend before commitment.
Drive the annual renewals process of 150 software and hardware support agreements to ensure only what is required is renewed at the best price before the expiration dates.
Provide resource management of 200 contractors.
Open all Purchase Orders on behalf of the tech team to ensure adequate justification, proper accounting treatment and correct budget coding is used.
Coordinate with AP and vendors regarding invoice issues.
Own monthly financial close activities and the submission formats required for annual budget and quarterly guidance deadlines.
Assist the team with defining metrics, ROI framework and providing support through deep-dive analysis that will be used to write documents and make trade-off decisions.
Perform various ad hoc analysis, reporting and modeling to help technology and finance leaders solve business problems and understand the financial implications.
Create and maintain team systems, SOPs and workflow documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and collaboration, while proactively making process improvement suggestions.
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of finance or a related analytical field experience
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or related field
Preferred Qualifications
Experience using data to influence business decisions
Basic understanding of accounting, technology and procurement
Experience in corporate finance including budgeting / planning, forecasting and reporting
Previous Technology and / or Entertainment industry experience
Experience with financial systems including Coupa, Cognos, and SAP
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Follows tasks through to completion with minimal oversight
Able to take initiative and deliver results in an ambiguous, fast-paced and dynamic environment
Candidates must be highly proficient in Excel

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $60,200 / year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800 / year in our highest geographic market.
Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
