MaineHealth Maine Medical Center is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Physician Assistant to join our team in Portland, Maine on a per diem basis, working on weekends.

We value teamwork and strive to nurture a supportive environment. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant provides psychiatric consultation to inpatients at Maine Medical Center.
The candidate should have comfort working with patients with substance-use disorders.
They provide face to face psychiatric evaluations and medication recommendations to patients in medical / surgical units.
Due to the hospital-based setting, an ability to multitask and manage acute clinical scenarios is essential. This is to work on a per diem basis on weekends in Portland, Maine.
Minimum Qualifications :
- Master’s degree with an advanced knowledge of nursing and / or medical theory and practice
- Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure.
- Current BLS certification.
- 2+ years of patient care in ambulatory mental health or hospital is preferred.
- Advanced skill and knowledge in psychiatric diagnosis and psychopharmacology. Comfort in treating patients with comorbid medical problems.
