Senior Project Manager
The Opportunity
The Senior Project Manager at Westphal & Co., Inc., leads electrical construction projects from inception to completion ensuring efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction.
They act as a key liaison between the company and clients, support field operations, mentor other Project Managers, and contribute to business development through relationship-building and market expansion efforts.
This role requires a blend of office, site, and external engagements to effectively manage projects and uphold industry standards and company goals.
This role can be onsite at either location - Milwaukee or Madison!
Key Responsibilities
Project Oversight
- Manage project lifestyle from bidding through completion, ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to optimize resource allocation and project execution.
Client Relations
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly to enhance satisfaction and ensure project success.
- Regularly communicate project updates, milestones, and deliverables to clients to ensure alignment with expectations.
Business Development
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities by networking with potential clients and industry stakeholders.
- Contribute to the development of proposals, bids, and presentations to secure new projects and expand market presence.
Team Leadership
- Provide leadership and guidance to project teams, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Mentor and coach junior Project Managers, supporting their professional development and project management skills.
Industry Compliance :
- Ensure projects comply with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations throughout all phases of construction.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices to implement innovative solutions and maintain competitive advantage.
Skills and Qualifications :
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders including clients, team members, and subcontractors.
- Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record in project management, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities for operational improvements and business growth.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools and a commitment to continuous professional development in the field of electrical construction.
Education and Experience :
Minimum of 8+ years of experience in electrical construction project management, with demonstrated success in overseeing projects of varying complexity and scale.
Working Conditions :
- Regular travel to project sites and client meetings required.
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate project demands and deadlines.
Reporting Structure :
The Senior Project Manager reports directly to the Project Executive, collaborating closely to achieve project and organizational goals.

Performance Objectives :
- 90 Days : Achieve proficiency with core software tools and integrate them into team processes.
- 180 Days : Independently manage project schedules and support project execution, while mastering internal communication flow.
- 365 Days : Lead projects independently, contribute to new project initiatives, and expand professional network through active engagement in at least 4 industry events.
