OH LA LA is a fast-growing food startup rooted in French culinary tradition. Our newly renovated space features a bakery, café, and restaurant experience inspired by the elegance of the French Riviera.
We pride ourselves on crafting authentic French morning pastries, artisanal breads, and delectable desserts using imported French ingredients to ensure the highest quality and authenticity.
Responsibilities :
- Assist the Pastry Chef in all aspects of pastry production, including scaling, preparing dough, shaping, baking, and decorating a variety of pastries.
- Follow recipes and techniques to ensure consistent and exceptional quality of croissants, viennoiseries, cookies, scones, and other specialty items.
- Operate and maintain pastry equipment, ensuring cleanliness, functionality, and safety.
- Monitor inventory of pastry ingredients and supplies, notifying the Pastry Chef of any needed replenishments.
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines, including ServSafe practices, to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new pastry creations, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative flavors.
- Stay updated with industry trends, techniques, and best practices related to pastry production.
- Assist in other bakery tasks as needed, such as cake decoration or bread production, based on business demands.
Requirements :
- Minimum of 3 years of professional pastry experience, with a focus on croissants, viennoiseries, cookies, brownies, cakes, and other specialty items.
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts, including weekends and holidays, based on the bakery's schedule.
- Possession of a ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain one.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs of ingredients and equipment.
- Culinary school training or relevant certification is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of pastry techniques, including dough lamination, shaping, and baking.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to producing visually appealing and delicious pastries.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Passion for pastry and a genuine interest in creating delightful and innovative baked goods.
