About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse Job Specialty : PCU RN - Stepdown Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : 12H Nights - 3x12s, Every Other Weekend, First to Float Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years License : Required to submit Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have : Positive attitude, teamwork skills, patient-oriented approach Job Description : Fast-paced unit with frequent admissions and discharges.
- Care for patients with heart failure, Afib, respiratory distress, and stroke.- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 : 4.- RNs are required to titrate drips, commonly using Cardizem, amiodarone, and nitroglycerin.
- Participate in cyclic scheduling with shifts from 0630-1900 and 1830-0700.- Every third weekend and 1 major, 1 minor holiday requirement.
- Must interpret telemetry strips independently.- Rotate floating to ICU if appropriate and experienced.- Orientation includes one 12-hour shift in the department.
- Attributes for success include a caring nature and teamwork mindset.- Pass / Fail exam during orientation with a required score of 90% to continue employment.
- Use of EPIC charting system.- The unit has 22 beds with nurse aids / patient care techs available at a 1 : 10 ratio.- Will float first if necessary.
