Under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer, the Venice Family Clinic Nurse Practitioner evaluates, treats, and makes appropriate diagnostic and specialty referrals for our patients.

As part of a multidisciplinary team, the NP works cooperatively with peers on medical management issues, changes in medical practice and procedures, and the design of more effective and efficient service delivery.

The NP reports to the Associate Medical Director. The NP is an integral part of the clinic staff, providing leadership and expertise on medical and patient care issues.

Because the Venice Family Clinic has a large volunteer program, the NP has a unique role in orienting and providing technical support to the volunteer medical providers.

This responsibility includes providing a positive role model, ensuring that volunteers understand Venice Family Clinic procedures and providing continuity of care for patients.

The NP works cooperatively all Clinic departments including nursing, pharmacy, clinic coordinators, and Behavioral Health staff.

The position requires flexibility in days and hours for clinical care, as some evening are included in the weekly schedule.

This is a 100% position.

Salary range : $80.78- 115.37 / hourly

Qualifications

Graduation from accredited School of Nursing with MSN / DNP with a FNP Specialty - required.

Current, valid CA Nurse Practitioner License and CA RN License-requir ed

BLS certification from AHA or ARC -required

Demonstrated skill in delivery of patient care -required

Demonstrated work experience over 2 years in family practice or internal medicine-requi red

Working knowledge of State of California clinic licensing requirements- required

Demonstrated work experience of over 2 years in management of outpatient medical problems- required

Demonstrated experience in supervising and training clinic personnel-requ ired

Interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with people of various educational, social, cultural and economic backgrounds-re quired

Leadership skills to represent project and issues and to initiate problem solving-requir ed

Bilingual Spanish / English communication skills-required

Working knowledge of other health, mental health and social services agencies in the area-preferred
