Summary :

Cosm is seeking a dynamic and innovative sales professional to join our team as a Sales Director based in Salt Lake City, Utah with progressive, strategic, critical thinking ability, who will apply their experience and education in a self-directed and fast-paced environment.

The Sales Director will execute strategies that maximize sales efforts in the areas of science, education, sports, and entertainment, both domestically and internationally.

This individual will collaborate with sales and executive leadership and manage to Cosm top level sales goals, combining creativity with business savvy to build Cosm brand equity, create awareness, and drive overall sales and revenue.

The ideal candidate is a resourceful and big-picture-thinking sales professional with a collaborative, ambitious spirit, and partnership-oriented mindset.

The Strategic Sales Executive will play an integral role in the growth of the company’s new market initiatives in the Universities and sports and entertainment lines in North America.

This role is highly strategic and highly visible. The individual in question must be comfortable working within a matrix environment from a reporting and teaming perspective.

Location :

The Sales Executive should be based in Salt Lake City or near or in a major US hub for travel accessibility. There is 25-35% travel associated with this role.

It will require at least 25% of the time in the SLC office each month (if not local to SLC), if not travelling.

Responsibilities :

  • Leads the origination, development, and close of sales leads to win strategic or big deals through the development of sales strategies, solution proposals, and deal closing for large opportunities.
  • Manages identification and generation of sales opportunities and the cultivation of pipeline growth in emerging markets.
  • Effectively networks and contacts internal and external channels and alliances to build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities.
  • Strong consulting or consultative selling expertise needed : advises customer executives on strategic opportunities, solutions, business value, and roadmap with executive presence and advisory skills in shaping compelling business cases and value propositions.
  • A strong understanding of Cosm’s products; their design and implementation. Act as product expert when consulting on large scale projects and be comfortable in a technical sales environment.
  • Leads end-to-end orchestration of the deals execution through close by effectively liaising with a broader team of experts and contributors from different competencies and solution areas.
  • Hands-on ability to craft compelling executive pitches and presentations.
  • Ability to drive strategic deals in multiple areas, including finance, supply chain, and front-office operations.

Measures of Success :

  • Meeting and exceeding annual bookings value target $15M.
  • Effective channels of engagement and collaboration.
  • Compliance with the client's sales methodology and financial parameters.
  • Work both independently and collaboratively with a broader team to build new pipeline and negotiate new deals.
  • Builds productive results-oriented relationships externally with channel partners.

Qualifications :

  • 5-10+ years of sales experience in technical, capital sales environment, selling cross-sector offerings and solutions to C-suite at large scale.
  • Experience selling complex services and capital equipment.
  • Proven sales track record meeting or exceeding sales targets with focus on large deals execution.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at senior business levels with strategic consultative and advisory skills with direct experience in business case, value, and roadmap development.
  • Comprehensive understanding of targeted industry business environments, issues, and the trends affecting both capital and operational spend.
  • History of successful sales across large-scale product offerings.
  • Strong commercial awareness to negotiate creative pricing mechanisms and contractual terms.
  • Strong relationship building, communication, and influencing skills.
  • Business leadership and executive presentation skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills including compelling proposal and presentation development.
  • Driven and able to work under pressure in a matrix organization.

  • Ability to work in a global organizational and technical and dynamic environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to stay abreast of industry trends and technical advancements across multiple business sectors.
  • Ability to travel as required.
