As the Medical Assistant, you will assist with passing of medications to the patients, and other related duties as delegated.
You will occasionally perform direct care duties. You will communicate appropriate details to staff nurses. The work site may be the clinic, a home and / or an apartment complex which may have two stories;
if two stories, the top story is accessible by one flight of stairs.

Job Tasks :
- Responsible for passing medication to patients, including controlled medications, assisting with self-administration, documentation of med passes, and g-tube feedings.
- Perform medication checks. Report observations to nursing.
- Train staff and patient on purpose of medications. Maintain patient charts in nursing office, i.e., filing, copying, etc.
- Monitor and / or record vital signs. Will do finger stick blood sugars as needed. Apply first aid if required.
- Will occasionally work as a Neuro Rehab Specialist (NRS). When in this role, teaches, monitors, administers, and documents individual patient programs including ADL's (as outlined on the Needs and Services Plans) and therapeutic home programs in English.
Job Requirements :
- High School graduation or GED required. Some college preferred.
- Training as Medication Aide or Medical Assistant required.
- Licensing as Medical Assistant (MA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
- Experience in rehabilitation, nursing, or related field required.
