JobSummary :

Implements withminimal supervision high quality physical therapy services forpatients caregivers and facilities in accordance with theprincipals and practices of physical therapy and with policies andprocedures.

Develops treatment plans supervises assistants andaides contributes to case management and provides quality patientcare.

Maintains positive level of interactionwith facilities and clients. Enhances and expands client relationswith facilities and their staff.

EssentialFunctions :

Understandappropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws which governhow Physical Therapists may practice and whom Physical Therapistsmay supervise.

Review the Clinical OperationsPolicies & Procedures Manual on a yearly basis and adhere tothe policies and procedures set forth.

Completeall Medicare compliance trainings as required by regulations and / orpolicies.

Complete Occupational Safety andHealth Administration (OSHA) training on a yearly basis and adhereto standards set forth in OSHA standards and other governmentalregulations.

Evaluate treat and direct skilledtreatment for patients for whom physical therapy is medicallynecessary. Document this need clearly.

Maintainongoing documentation in which goals progress toward functionalgoals and medical necessity are clearly stated.

Complete all required documentation (precertifications physiciansreports daily notes charge tickets etc.) legibly appropriately andin a timely fashion in order to meet facility physician and payordeadlines.

Maintain open and respectfulcommunication with coworkers physicians patients family members andthird party payers at all times.

Attend and / orparticipate in facility meetings as directed by Center Manager (mayinclude utilization review infection control disaster preparednessetc.)

Completes sufficient ongoing continuingeducation coursework to meet state licensure requirements for thedefined reporting period

Maintains a currentCPR certification that meets state licensure requirements

Additional Responsibilities :

Utilize time efficiently and effectively to meetproductivity requirements of the facility.

Participate in and present clinical inservices asdirected

Maintain current awareness of generalchanges in the health care field and specific issues impacting thepractice of physical therapy.

Play asignificant role in specific area of center operations as agreedupon between employee and Center Manager.

RequiredCredentials :

Graduationfrom a physical therapist education program accredited by theCommission on Accreditation in Physical

TherapyEducation (CAPTE) or in the case of an internationally educatedphysical therapist from a nonCAPTE accredited program seekinglicensure as a physical therapist a substantially equivalenteducation;

State licensure / registration whereapplica ble.
