In this role, you will be a member of the Cloud Management Platform & Services (CMPS) team responsible for maintaining and delivering key technologies streams for the service line multi-tenant and multi-cloud production-computing platform.
Candidates for this role will be expected to adopt agile engineering methodologies, while providing operational excellence through automation, infrastructure as code, and devops, enabling continuous delivery of services to CMPS clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Contribute to design and execute implementation for simple to complex cloud solutions that may include multi-region (multi-cloud) DR, high availability, complex application clustering, CSP service integration, identity, and access management
- Provide SME level expertise to CMPS Engineering, Security, and Operations, with a focus on AWS and supported operating systems.
- Adopt agile engineering methodologies to provide continuous delivery of services to clients
- Deliver timely and effective provisioning of new hosted clients ensuring the application technical architecture aligns with CMPS supported technologies
- Create, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot cloud networking design & infrastructure for AWS, OCI and environments
- Focus on operational excellent through automation, infrastructure as code, devops strategies, and process improvement
- Support current firewall configurations and troubleshoot advanced network related tickets
- Assess network security gaps and recommend solutions
- Perform scripting and coding for GovCloud environments as it relates to networking and AWS, and OCI
- Hand over implementations to sustainment and operations team
- Conduct release management and support for platform service line with proactive planning and reporting of infrastructure growth
- Support and enhance service line critical applications and services : DNS, SMTP, Active Directory, Terminal Services, Nagios, Nessus, SSH, Multi-Factor Authentication, Firewalls, CSP services
- Adopt subject matter expert role for service line key technologies : Virtualization, applications integration with Linux based operating systems (e.
g. RedHat, Centos, OEL, Ubuntu), and MSWIN operating systems.
- Support cloud management services : Identity and Access Management, Security Groups, CSP native services and ensure alignment with CMPS supported technologies
- Provide inputs to application teams to ensure architecture meets environment security, audit compliance, performance requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least four years’ experience with one or more AWS, and Oracle, or Azure cloud provider experience for virtual deployments, hosting, and migration
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or related field
- 4+ years’ experience troubleshooting and debugging Microsoft Windows and Linux based operating systems in an administrative / support capacity
- Associate level cloud certification such as : AWS-CSA-A (AWS), MCSA Cloud Platform (MS Azure), or Professional Cloud Architect (GCP)
- 5-7 years of experience working with infrastructures and 3-5 years of experience with one or more vendor cloud platforms
- Advanced experience in large scale system cloud architecture, design, and integration with a focus on infrastructure (operational support), storage, automation, networking, and virtualization
- Familiarity with load balancing, firewalls, and networking
- Bash shell, PowerShell, and / or Python scripting experience
- Experience with Ansible, Chef, Puppet, or similar configuration management tools
