Job Description
Overview :
As the CPA, you will oversee financial operations, ensure accurate reporting, and manage urgent tax filings. You will be responsible for filing back payroll taxes, managing federal tax filings, and addressing significant amounts of document filing.
This role involves working closely with the legal and accounting teams to ensure that all tax documents are handled efficiently and in compliance with regulations.
The ideal candidate will have a solid accounting background, be detail-oriented, and possess excellent communication and analytical skills.
Key Responsibilities :
- Financial Reporting : Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
- Tax Compliance :
- File back payroll taxes for HR and ensure ongoing compliance with payroll tax requirements.
- Manage urgent federal tax filings and ensure all deadlines are met.
- Handle the extensive filing of federal, state, and local taxes with documents provided by the company.
- Budgeting & Forecasting : Collaborate with the leadership team to develop annual budgets, forecasts, and financial strategies that align with the company’s goals.
- Audit & Compliance : Lead and coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring adherence to internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Accounts Payable : Assist with accounts payable, which we currently manage more by hand, and improve processes over time.
- Cash Flow Management : Monitor and manage cash flow to ensure financial stability, including overseeing accounts payable and receivable.
- Strategic Financial Planning : Provide financial analysis and recommendations to guide decision-making in support of business growth and efficiency.
- Collaboration : Work closely with legal and accounting teams to ensure seamless financial operations, particularly in managing tax-related matters.
- Process Improvement : Identify opportunities for process improvements in the company’s financial operations and implement best practices to increase efficiency.
Requirements :
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with experience in tax filing and compliance.
- Extensive experience with payroll taxes and federal tax filings.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, tax regulations, and corporate finance principles.
- Experience with financial reporting, auditing, and tax planning.
- Familiarity with FreshBooks or similar accounting software.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
