Position Description :
The Maintenance Supervisor role is located at our mining and processing site in Mountain Pass, California, approximately 50 miles south of Las Vegas.
The Maintenance Supervisor manages and coordinates necessary repairs on all fixed assets site wide in a safe and efficient manner to achieve established maintenance objectives within approved budgets, company guidelines and legal requirements.
Essential duties :
- Interfaces with various departments as necessary to successfully execute and close out projects while integrating them into existing operations
- Organizes and oversees the schedules and work of maintenance staff
- Taking part in developing maintenance policies and standards
- Coordinating training sessions in facility maintenance, safety procedures, and methods
- Communication and tracking of work orders and projects
- Oversight of construction & installation (pfd, p&id, general layout, mechanical, assembly, electrical, control drawings)
- Supervision of construction contractors and design firms
- Troubleshoot system problems and resolve by modification, replacement
- Assist instrument techs, mechanics, electricians in troubleshooting and setup of equipment
- Responsible for motivating maintenance personnel to accomplish company objectives
- Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
- Plan and direct maintenance operations in a safe and efficient manner to ensure equipment’s operability levels to achieve plant production goals
- Review maintenance activities and work performance to ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state safety regulations.
Basic Qualifications :
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant maintenance operations or an equivalent combination of education and work experience
- Minimum 3 years supervisory or managerial experience required
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- High School Diploma
- Mechanical Engineering Degree Preferred
- Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record are required in order to drive company vehicles on property
Desired Qualities :
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, SAP
- Management skills, including recruiting, hiring, and developing team culture to maximize growth
- Ability to work with all levels within the organization, including senior management
- Ability to work with internal customers and external agencies for compliance & controls
- Intermediate to advanced level of understanding of mechanical maintenance, knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance.
- Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact with all levels of people within and outside the organization.
The expected pay rate is $100,000 to $110,000. The actual pay rate offered may vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to experience, knowledge, skills, and / or location.
