Salary Range

The hiring target for this position is $140,000 to $215,000 per year.

Job Description

The Managing Director, Seattle Station Operations reports to the President and assumes overall responsibility for building and leading McGee Air Services operations at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.

Key Responsibilities

  • Foster a culture of safety and compliance and ensure focus on employee safety in all levels of the organization
  • Develop positive relationships with customers, reinforcing our commitment to customer service and ensuring that we are establishing, and achieving required levels of service
  • Developing and managing relationship with airport authorities within all assigned stations to include security, TSA, real estate and maintenance operations
  • Reinforce strong working relationships with Human Resources, Safety, Training, Alaska counterparts, customers and other engaged third parties (i.e. GSE providers)
  • Develop, implement, and oversee daily operational performance to ensure stations meet / exceed performance and scorecard metrics
  • Establish and manage financial and productivity goals to ensure stations meet / exceed budget targets
  • Establish and maintain a leadership style that encourages communication at all levels and where employees feel valued, connected and engaged in the success of the operation
  • Establish a culture of continual improvement to ensure optimum efficiency, productivity and financial performance at stations
  • Develop and mentor team members to facilitate diversity, succession planning and career progression
  • Hire, coach and develop leaders throughout the organization for alignment, growth and engagement
  • Design, implement, and oversee procedures for new station operations
  • Act as liaison for all stations and regions to ensure appropriate support services are provided
  • Foster and maintain an environment and culture that exemplifies McGee's values of Safety, Service, Integrity, Mutual Respect, Accountability and Pride
  • Perform additional duties as required for success of the business
  • Qualifications

    Required

  • 8+ years of hands-on operations leadership experience, including experience leading large teams of union-represented employees, and leading multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  • 3+ years in a leadership role
  • Experience with building, developing, and overseeing ground service teams
  • Working knowledge of fiscal control systems, staffing processes, safety and security compliance
  • Working knowledge of safety management system (SMS) and airline security compliance requirements
  • Ability to travel extensively, as needed, to support the success of the operation
  • Analytical and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Excellent strategic development skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive outcomes in the best interest of the company
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Preferred

  • Aviation, Transportation, or related industry experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience

    Airport SIDA Badge Requirements

    Work Location

    This position is based in SeaTac, WA, relocation assistance is available.
