Austin Health Partners is looking for a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant to join our growing team! They will play a vital role in our goal to serve our patients, their families and support physicians in the community.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides patient services under the direct supervision and responsibility of the designated supervising staff physician
  • Obtains medical and personal histories
  • Performs initial examinations, including physical exams and patient observations
  • Educates patients and families
  • Prioritizes and assesses patients
  • Provides primary care through wellness visits and assessment
  • Diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses to a variety of patients
  • Maintains standard universal precautions
  • Prescribes medications and completes treatments according to office policies and within age-specific parameters.
  • Maintains and completes all necessary patient record documentation
  • Assist Practice Manager in clinical skills guidance and training for clinical staff.
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Licensed in the state of Texas as a Registered Nurse / PA
  • Unrestricted active Nurse Practitioner / PA Texas license

Specific to NP

  • Board Certified
  • Licensed in the state of Texas
  • Graduate of an Advanced Nurse Practitioner accredited program.

EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Daytime, evening, and weekend schedules available.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and / or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds.

This job will require exposure to patient elements. Works near others, usually within a few feet. May work in a noisy or distracting environment.

This role routinely uses standard office and medical equipment. Certain vaccinations are required of all clinic staff.
