Our client is a small start-up company that provides customers with efficient algal production systems, training, and technical guidance for the operation of these systems.

Currently, we are hiring a Manufacturing Technicians to assist with the production and packaging of our algae bag chambers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Production Areas :

• Bag manufacturing assistance
• Impulse heat sealing
• Product assembly
• Operate a vacuum sealer
• Use scissors to trim plastic bag products
• Maintain a clean work area
• Maintenance of warehouse space, including inventory and organization of product materials, as well as daily cleaning
• Organized record keeping

Required Qualifications and Experiences

• 1-2 years of relevant work experience with a relevant certification or Associate Degree, particularly within the field of aquaculture or manufacturing
• Knowledge and passion for aquaculture, farming, food systems development, manufacturing process development, etc.
• Cooperative, service-oriented attitude and ability to work independently, set priorities, and see projects through to completion
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and relationship development skills
• Ability to be open and flexible to new ways of working with diverse communities
• Creative skills and ability to experiment to attain new strategies and solutions to challenges
• Flexibility and willingness to take on various tasks, and ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative team environment
• Strong work ethic and ability to perform strenuous physical labor in inclement weather
• Detail-oriented
• A valid driver’s license

Other Preferred Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor of Science preferred (Biology, Chemistry, etc.) but not necessary
• Experience with and ability to use power tools
• MIG Welding Aluminum
• Fabrication
• Experience with sterile techniques
• Technical knowledge and familiarity with irrigation construction, troubleshooting, and repair
• Knowledge of environmental science
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Project management experience
• Training in active listening and constructive communication techniques such as Non-Violent Communication, meeting facilitation, etc.
• Experience and / or understanding of working within a start-up company
• Punctuality
