NON-COMPETITIVE MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
Business Systems Analyst Trainee 1 : A bachelors degree or higher.
Business Systems Analyst Trainee 2 : A bachelor's degree and one year of professional experience as described below OR a Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field.
Business Systems Analyst 1 : A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience as described below OR a Juris Doctor, master's or higher degree in a related field and one year of professional experience as described below.

Candidates must be reachable for appointment on the current Civil Service Eligible List, Professional Careers Opportunity (PCO) or Public Administration Traineeship Transition (PATT).

TRANSFER QUALIFICATIONS :
Candidates must have one year of permanent competitive or 55-b / c status in the posted title and be eligible for lateral transfer;
OR be eligible to transfer via Section 70.1, 70.4, or 52.6 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in an advancement of more than two salary grades.

Duties Description Business Systems Analyst 1's play a vital role in bridging the gap between business needs and technological solutions at OPWDD.
Duties include but are not limited to the following :
- Gather and analyze business requirements through research into processes and interviews with stakeholders.
- Analyze data to understand the current state of business operations and identify areas for improvement.
- Document system findings and recommendations into clear, concise, and easy to understand formats (ex. flowcharts, use cases, .
- Document and manage systems design and workflows.
- Collaborate with project managers, developers, and both internal and external team members as it relates to business needs and functional specifications for communications with ITS.
- Assist with testing and user adoption; participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure the developed solution meets business requirements.
- Assist with the development and maintenance of training materials to ensure a smooth user adoption process.
- Ensure effective communication and collaboration between parties and as it relates to project goals including the completeness of business requirements documentation and meeting project deadlines.
