Role description :
The Production Manager is responsible for directing forming, mold repair, and machine repair departments to obtain optimum performances in safety, quality, and performance efficiencies at the lowest operating cost.
Responsibilities :
Ensure the manufacturing of glass containers are within customer specifications and quality standards
Select and develop employees to adequately staff the forming department which includes salary administration, effective employee and union relations, developmental and training opportunities, and succession planning
Manage departmental budgets including time, labor, and spending costs
Establish and maintain a safe and healthy work environment always striving for zero accidents
Monitor department performances and report on negative impacted areas while developing and implementing continuous improvement
Comply with environmental and food safety standards as outlined in plant policies within the department
Minimum skills / qualifications :
High School Diploma or equivalent
Twelve (12) years of experience in glass manufacturing with an emphasis on the forming process and management experience
Prior experience with mold repair, machine repair, and job changes
Excellent communication skills
Proficient organizational, analytical, and planning skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to work in a heavy industrial, high-risk work environment
Ability to work outside of regular work hours
Ability to prioritize work and have a sense of urgency
Ability to travel up to 5%
Preferred skills / qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related discipline
Fifteen (15) years of experience in glass manufacturing with an emphasis on the forming process and management experience
Prior experience with the plant's forming process (i.e. press, blow-and-blow, etc.)
Compensation
The anticipated base annual salary range for this role is between $106,600 and 160,000 per year. Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate.
The final salary will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
