Audubon is currently seeking a Project Manager to be part of a project team working onsite at a client's plant in Westlake, LA.
The Project Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing capital projects, facility renovations / retrofits, process improvements, equipment installations, and utility installations and modifications.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Key Areas of Responsibility will include :
- Providing necessary leadership for managing small, medium, and large projects.
- Facilitating collection of project requirements, objectives and expectations.
- Maintaining consistent communications with project teams and leadership.
- Leading definition of project objectives, scope development, and front-end engineering to support project development and execution.
- Preparing and submitting budget estimates, progress reports, or cost tracking reports; monitoring costs incurred; identifying budget issues.
- Monitoring project milestones and deliverables.
- Negotiating with project stakeholders or suppliers to obtain resources or materials.
- Planning, scheduling, or coordinating project activities to meet deadlines.
- Producing and distributing project documents; managing project documentation; ensuring engineering drawings and related documents properly handled, labeled, searchable, versions noted, etc.
- Developing and updating project plans including information related to objectives, schedules, funding, and staffing.
- Providing proposal review and approval modifications to project plans.
- Reviewing and reporting project outcomes / risks to appropriate management channels
- Conducting post-project evaluations; identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Overseeing project controls including project cost estimating, planning / scheduling, project benchmarking, effective cost control / forecasting, effective project progress control, contracting / procurement-plans, cash flow management and financial status of the project.
- Directing daily work of Project Engineers supporting major projects; ensures fulfillment of roles and responsibilities.
- Abiding by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participating in appropriate safety training;
demonstrating commitment to and support of EHSS principles and values; champions safety at all times; participates in and / or leads safety teams or projects as appropriate.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS :
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and / or ability required for the position :
- 10+ years’ experience in plant related construction projects.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
- Proven leadership and influencing skills; training in project management required.
- Project Engineering experience in Petrochemical, chemical, or refining industry is a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of construction, engineering, procurement, and other project-related activities; able to emphasize interfaces and interdependencies of all project work and disciplines.
- Experienced in and understanding of cost controls, budgeting or other financial components of project management; negotiation skills;
financial knowledge important.
- Solid presentation skills; ability to create presentations as necessary.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and follow through on assignments.
- Good computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite; ability to use database systems and other programs and applications.
