Position Purpose : The Technology Solutions Specialist will be focused on technology systems and services inside our multifamily communities and be responsible for their performance and availability.
These community technologies would include smart home technologies, managed wireless, access control, security cameras, package systems, digital signage, and common area music.
They will work with the communities to coordinate and oversee all technical needs during site moves and renovations. This individual will work in conjunction with the other members of the IT organization to ensure consistent delivery and support of all community technologies services.
Essential Functions : The following list of essential job functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or modified, as necessary.
- Coordinate installations, upgrades, and support of technology systems and services inside our multifamily communities, ensuring proper documentation and functionality of those systems.
- Monitor technology systems and services inside our multifamily communities, work with vendors to repair or adjust systems in order to show measurable improvement in the performance and take responsibility for system uptime.
- Maintain inventory information including warranty status and key points of contact for support purposes.
- Collaborate with team members daily to provide technical guidance and expertise, as well as broaden existing IT knowledge and skills.
- Develop, implement and maintain standards and procedures for design and configurations of technology systems and services inside our multifamily communities.
- Create and maintain documentation such as SOPs, maintenance plans, network diagrams, platform, and configuration standards.
- Conduct and or oversee scheduled work for system upgrades, updates, and general maintenance that cannot be performed during the normal business day.
- Analyze the current environment and research technology to recommend future implementations that align with the goals of the business.
- Assume ownership of tickets working to resolve issues efficiently and provide repeatable steps to avoid future problems.
- Work independently as appropriate to identify issues in support processes and present resolutions while adhering to change control procedures.
- Travel to various site locations as required.
Qualifications and Requirements : The individual must possess the following knowledge, skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that he or she can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities.
- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology or related fields required, or equivalent work experience.
- At least three years of experience in an IT environment or education equivalency.
- Strong working knowledge of technology systems and services found inside multifamily communities including but not limited security cameras, audio video systems, and access control systems to provide ongoing support, design guidance, and deployment oversight.
- Working knowledge of switches, routers, firewalls, LAN & WAN technologies, network diagnostics and monitoring techniques.
- Working knowledge of telecom systems including but not limited to their support, design, and deployment.
- Working knowledge of wireless deployment including centralized and stand-alone designs, authentication technologies, and authorization mechanisms.
- Experience with system, network, and performance management tools for event and fault isolation as well as resource optimization.
- Demonstrate good communication and decision-making skills while effectively prioritizing and managing time spent on work activities.
- Highly motivated team player with a positive demeanor who can learn quickly and shows excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to effectively troubleshoot various issues over the phone in a fast-paced, rapidly developing, ever changing Information Technology environment in a success-oriented and highly principled entrepreneurial company.
- Must have good organizational skills, be detailed oriented, and be able to maintain complete and accurate records of all changes.
