Job Description
- Provide administrative support to the firm’s Litigation Group
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and revising legal documents, including pleadings and correspondence
- Prepare and format documents for court filings (both federal and state)
- Manage case files and organize legal documents for easy access
- Maintain attorneys’ calendars and ensure deadlines are met, including court dates and filings
- Communicate professionally with clients, attorneys, and other staff members
- Use software tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe, and document management systems to perform daily tasks efficiently
- Support attorneys with trial preparation and assist during all phases of litigation
Qualifications
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred
- Must have eminent domain background OR, at minimum, construction defect experience.
- 7+ years of legal assistant experience, with a focus on litigation
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent
- Familiarity with California state and federal court procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with legal software and calendaring tools
