SPAR Westport (Shop St) are looking for a full time Sales Associate Manager to join their fantastic team.
The position requires a personable, detail-oriented, and multitasking personality, as well as the ability to carry boxes!
Responsibilities :
- Opening store, setting systems up, and other opening procedures
- Greeting customers and facilitating purchases
- Using cash register to process transactions
- Maintaining proper inventory controls and placing orders
- Assisting in maintaining the back stock room and setting up merchandise displays on the sales floor
- Collaborating with fellow team members to keep the sales floor area clean and organized at all times
- Building relationships with teachers, assisting them with ordering schoolbooks and stationery, and coordinating the delivery of their purchases
- Ensuring register and other systems balance at the end of the day
- Ensuring the store is secured at closing by checking if the doors are locked, alarms are set, and all safes are locked
- Managing incoming orders and communications from McLoughlin's Bookshop website and coordinating order delivery
- Overseeing timely updates to the website including building and refreshing online merchandise catalogues and uploading photos of products for website use
- Creating content and posting to social media platforms bi-weekly
- Sharing ideas for expanding and improving services and product offerings to customers
- Being present and assisting during peak periods, including Christmas and summer, and most importantly, this person will be available to work in August and September 2025 to help with our Back to School season.
- Full-time position and long-term employment preferred
- Retail sales with experience in working with the public preferred
- Over 18 years (legal age to sell cigarettes in SPAR)
- Basic computer skills and willingness to learn our systems
- Standing and moving for a full shift with the ability to easily move up and downstairs. Has the strength to lift boxes of books and stationery frequently
