Job Summary and Qualifications

Serves the organization by working with customers to include : inpatients, outpatients, physicians, allied healthcare professionals and the community by providing services such as education, referrals, and screenings.

Utilizes clinical expertise in managing diabetes patients by providing appropriate information, training, and resources while employing effective problem-solving techniques to achieve desired outcomes.

Ensures that he / she is current with new diabetes treatment technology

What qualifications you will need :

EDUCATION REQUIRED AND / OR PREFERRED : (list required and preferred separately)

Bachelors of Science Degree (Nursing) with current license or Bachelors of Science Degree in Food and Nutrition and successful completion of dietetic internship experience through Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics program

LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION : (list required and preferred separately)

Required : Current Nursing or Registered Dietitian by Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, Licensed by the State of Texas

Required : BCLS / AED certification for "Healthcare Provider" by the American Heart Association

PREFERRED EDUCATION, LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, EXPERIENCE, SKJLLS KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES :

Minimum 5 years of experience

Preferred : Masters Degree / Nursing or Dietetics

Preferred : CDCES (Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist) certification within two years.
