- A hospital in California is looking for an experienced L / D nurse for a travel contract.
- The right candidate will have 2 full years of experience, hold an active BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN and CA License.
Job Requirements
- 2 full years of experience in L / D.
- Active BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced AWHONN certifications.
- Hold an active CA License.
Schedule Information
- 12 hours shifts; 7a - 7p / 7p - 7a.
- 1 / 2 hour break (clock-out); 3 - 15 min breaks per shift (CA Law).
- Weekends : Usually every other weekend (same as perm staff).
Unit Specific Information
- No nurse aides, but have OB techs that help with C-sections & assist as needed with baby cares.
- Charge Nurse : Around the clock, does not take patients.
- Breaks : 1 / 2 hour break (clock-out); 3 - 15 min breaks per shift (CA Law).
- Unit Orientation : 2 shifts on the unit, will also meet with the educator.
- Doc System : CERNER REQUIRED.
- Add'l equipment : Pagers linked to call light system & internal spectralink phones.
- Tele : Post-surgery only for the hour post-surgery C-section.
- RT 24 / 7 : Yes.
- Pharmacy 24 / 7 : Yes.
- No floating required as it is a Closed Unit; Nights, EOW, first to float.
