Postdoctoral Scholar Position in Bioinformatics Scumpia Lab 2023-2024

The Division of Dermatology, Department of Medicine at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is currently recruiting for a full-time postdoctoral position.
This position is available immediately in the Scumpia Laboratory, which is focused on cutaneous systems biology research in the following thematic areas :
- Combining RNA-seq, ChIP-Seq, ATAC-seq (including single cell approaches) datasets with transgenic mice and murine models of human disease to obtain mechanistic insights into cells and molecular pathways into skin disease.
- Understand the mechanisms of skin fibrosis, regeneration, or inflammation using integrated genomic technologies and cells from transgenic / KO mice.
We are affiliated with the following departments at UCLA :
- Department of Medicine / Division of Dermatology
- Department of Bioengineering
- UCLA Health Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center (Tumor Cell Biology Program)
The ideal candidates must have experience with :
- RNA expression profiles, molecular pathway analysis (GO, GSEA, etc.)
- Cell to cell interactions
- Tools for handling large data sets
Interested individuals should have :
- Experience with analysis of highly parallel sequencing data : R, A plus, or other coding language but may be acquired via training by our current postdoctoral fellow.
- Fluency in English and strong written and oral communication skills : Prerequisites
- Permanent U.S. residency or citizenship : Not required
- At least one first-authored publication in a peer-reviewed journal
- A Ph.D. is required
