Insight Global is looking for a qualified individual to fill the role of Technical Editor and Writer 2 (Drafter) for their Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) program’s Navy Enterprise Tactical Training Network (NETTN).

This person would work with the drafting and documentation team that provides support to all installation projects across the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Develop technical documentation required as part of the NCTE Installation process consisting of : installation design and as built plans, to include detailed facility, cabling, power, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and network drawings
  • Primarily responsible for completing drafting in support of configuration management change requests consisting of electrical diagrams to install equipment used for military communication ranging from wiring diagrams, tower equipment layouts and electrical component layout for rack configuration
  • Periodically (10-25%) travel to NCTE locations to survey proposed and existing NCTE installation sites, and develop drawings and provide survey results to be included in survey reports
  • Maintain NCTE configuration management drawing and documentation libraries using various information sharing systems, and to periodically adjust information contained therein to enhance information sharing across the NCTE program’s NETTN
  • As required, develop and update other technical and administrative documentation, generally using Microsoft office products

Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

3 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 1 year relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years relevant experience.

In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for applicable work experience. Work experience may be adjusted for highly specialized knowledge or uniquely applicable experience

Preferred Qualifications :

Familiar with the standards of the Navy Shore Installation Process Handbook

  • Frequent use and general knowledge of industry practices, techniques, and standards. General application of concepts and principles.
  • Proficient use of AUTODESK AutoCAD family of products
  • Proficient use of Adobe Acrobat professional
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office products, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Familiarity with Atlassian workshare products, to include Confluence and JIRA
  • The ability to effectively communicate with co-workers to obtain resources needed to complete tasks
