Software Engineer

A growing technology firm in lower Westchester is looking to add a Software Developer who can support programming, writing and / or editing technical specifications, contributing and reviewing code, and helping manage off-shore development.

We have projects in Microsoft Azure Cloud Services, Android / iOS Apps using Xamarin / MAUI, and interfaces to machine vision, facial recognition, and OCR.

Our office is located about one block from Bronxville Metro North station. We can offer flexible working conditions after a period of time, but initially expect you to be in the office to learn about the company, its products and people.

At no point will this role become fully remote.

Position Responsibilities will include :

• Develop C# applications for Windows and Android / iOS using .NET 8
• Write technical specifications used to guide offshore development
• Help manage developers including contributing to and reviewing their code.
• Contribute to software architecture and APIs
• Front-end application development on iOS and Android platforms
• Basic troubleshooting / support of our products both in-house and via remote software sessions

Ideal Candidate Qualifications :

• Self Learner - ability and interest in learning new skills and technology
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and / or 4+ years of experience in software development.
• Good problem solving, customer service and communication skills
• Proficiency with Git and advanced Git Tooling
• Application development (iOS and Android, Windows, Linux)
• Microsoft Visual Studio C# and Xamarin for mobile development
• Experience in database technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB, PostgreSQL or similar RDBMS.
• Experienced in configuring and managing Azure cloud services, including setting up App Services, Storage Accounts, VMs, and databases.

Proficient in implementing security and identity services using Azure Active Directory (AAD) and Microsoft Entra, alongside maintaining and securing applications and data.

• Familiar with mobile architecture, solutions and frameworks
• Strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail, and ability to effectively handle multiple priorities
• Must be collaborative and able to work in a team-based environment
• Must have excellent verbal and written skills and be able to communicate effectively.
• Must be an active listener, able to extract and validate relevant information.
• Candidates will need to pass a background check.

Nice to Have Technologies :

• Fullstack web development (e.g. Vue, Typescript / Javascript, Node.js)
• Linux Operating System (Debian, Ubuntu).
• Python Experience
• Open-Source contributions on Github or other Git based Developer platforms.
• PowerShell, Bash, other shells and shell scripting languages.
