DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will supervise, manage, and direct activities in state-owned liquor store. General managers are accountable for the entire store operation which includes sales, store maintenance, merchandise and cash accounting, maintenance of records and all related functions.
As general manager, you will be responsible for allocating store resources to maximize efficiency and profitability, implementing and applying policy and procedure to store operations, assigning and evaluating staff work, and promoting good customer relations through ensuring first-rate, friendly, and supportive customer service.

Work Schedule and Additional Information :
- Full-time employment, 75 hours, bi-weekly.
- Work hours vary from 7 : 00 AM to 10 : 00 PM, Sunday - Saturday.
- Salary : The starting salary for this position for new Commonwealth employees may be negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements :
- One year as a Liquor Store General Manager 2B; or
- Two years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 3 or a Liquor Store General Manager 2A; or
- Three years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 2 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1B; or
- Four years as a Liquor Store Assistant Manager 1 or a Liquor Store General Manager 1A; or
- Five years of supervisory retail sales work.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements :
You must pass a background investigation. An applicant with a felony conviction within the last ten years of their prospective date of employment is not permitted to work for the PLCB, per section 210(c) of the Pennsylvania Liquor Code.
Other criminal convictions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
