We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Electrical Engineer in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), Production Operations Business Unit based in Levelland , or Midland, Texas .
A company vehicle will be provided for work-related commute and travel.
The Electrical Engineer will support all aspects of the field electrical infrastructure, including, but not limited to :
Provide electrical engineering support, start up, and troubleshooting for power distribution equipment; high, medium and low voltage substations;
transformers; switchgear; motor control centers; protective relays; variable frequency drives; soft starters; and motors.
- Provide support during the design phase for small and major projects, developing load flow, short circuit, relay coordination, arc flash, motor start, dynamic stability, and / or harmonic studies using Windmil or ETAP.
- Develop and test protective relay programs for SEL or Multilin relays. Assist with / supervise relay testing via current injection with Doble ProTest software.
Develop settings for LV circuit breakers. Produce protection coordination studies using ETAP, EasyPower, or LightTable.
Provide support for solid state power electronic devices including low and medium voltage soft starts, variable frequency drives from 480V to 12.
47kV, and excitation controls for large synchronous motors.
- Perform system modeling to ensure optimum efficiency using capacitor banks and voltage regulators on power distribution systems.
- Responsible for factory acceptance testing for LV and MV electrical devices and start-up of small and major projects. Reviews HV and LV cable and motor testing, HV and LV transformer testing (including CT polarity / ratio, insulation, impulse, heating, applied, and induced voltage tests).
Evaluate LV and HV switchgear and breaker testing results, timing, contact resistance, and insulation.
