- Performs accurate evaluation, plans and implements appropriate treatment and follow up of patients efficiently and effectively.
- Performs initial assessment, reassessment and discharge notes in permanent chart of patients within a specific time frame.
- Completes daily report of patients scheduled and treatments given.
- Communicates with physicians regarding treatment goals and discharge plans.
- Adds a new patient to schedule as new referral is received.
- Attends and participates in all departmental / interdepartmental meetings and in-services as requested.
- Discusses problems, plans and ideas with Director to improve patient care.
- Observes and performs infection control practices throughout.
- Promotes good rapport among PT and all other departments.
- Participates in departmental TQI and Performance Improvement projects, contributes to the enhancement and maintenance of a safe environment of care, and upgrades personal professional knowledge and skills through continuing education methods.
- Assists other staff and Director in development of new programs as directed.
- Maintains ethical standards of practice.
- Performs appropriate tasks for patients all ages in an acute care setting covering areas in pediatrics, geriatrics, cardiac, maternity, medical, surgical, sports and orthopedics.
- Participates in the Risk Safety Management program of the hospital.
- Observes the functions of patient rights, education, and management of information and leadership.
Requirements
1 or more years of experience
Master’s degree in Physical Therapy
Physical Therapy license
CPR certificate required
