Legal Aid seeks a Development and Communications Manager, focused on multimedia and supporter communications, including visual storytelling, as part of our owned media content strategy.
The Manager will produce creative multimedia content, including photos, designed imagery, videos, and other pieces to amplify Legal Aid’s brand and support organizational programs and events.
The Manager should be passionate about storytelling and be able to create inspiring audio / visual content. The Manager will be responsible for developing strategies to increase social media engagement and will join a team of eight who work to increase awareness about Legal Aid’s mission and impact.

Depending on experience, the Development and Communications Manager will have primary or secondary roles in :
Media, Website, and Social Media :
- Oversee and, at times, execute daily maintenance of website and social media.
- Support program staff with proactive and reactive media relations.
- Support Director of Development and Communications with research, writing, and follow through on Tier 1 pitches.
- Create and coordinate monthly editorial calendar to deliver Legal Aid content across all Legal Aid channels.
- Gather, write, and organize success / outcome stories.
Supporter Communications :
- Assist with individual donor stewardship including acknowledgement letters, thank you cards, donor appreciation gifts, and other communications via phone and email;
- Produce communications to support Partners in Justice and all affiliate programs;
- Coordinate and produce communications in support of annual fund solicitations and with individual donors;
- Supporting Legal Aid’s donor, public relations and communications work, including :
- earned and owned media such as newsletters, website / social media including story and ad strategy development for both the client and supporter community;
- strategic public relations planning and implementation;
- supporting outreach and special events, and engaging donors in special events;
The Successful Candidate will :
- Be committed to Legal Aid’s mission.
- Hold a bachelor’s degree in related field or commensurate experience.
- Have a minimum of 5 years experience in non-profit fundraising, development, public relations or similar work.
- Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office; design platforms (such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite), web content management systems (WordPress experience preferred);
videography and photography (including editing software experience); and organizing files on a shared drive.
Possess advanced proficiency in social media apps, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Threads, YouTube, and LinkedIn;
as well as an understanding of social media analytics.

The Manager will report to either the Director or a Senior Manager.
Compensation & Benefits : The salary range for this position is $66,000 to $99,000. The top third of Legal Aid’s salary ranges are reserved for those with deep skill sets, long tenure, and consistent exceptional performance.
