Position Summary :
Outside Sales Account Managers are directly responsible for expanding existing business and generating new business for our company.
Candidate will be responsible for generating, soliciting and closing new accounts as well as maintaining existing relationships.
Essential Job Functions :
- Develop specific territory growth plan and provide updates on progress vs. plan.
- Identify and generate new sales opportunities via in person meetings, field calls, telephone, internet, referrals and industry network.
- Meet with prospective clients to secure their business. Execute appropriate follow-up client meetings to complete sales process.
- Maintain existing accounts.
- Forecast and track key account metrics (e.g., quarterly sales results and annual forecasts).
- Assist with challenging client requests or issue escalations as needed
Knowledge & Skills :
- Proven Sales Track Record Industrial / Technical sales experience desired
- Aerospace and Defense / Industrial background desirable depending on market served
- Computer skills including Outlook and Microsoft Office
- Excellent listening, negotiation and presentation abilities
- Proven ability to juggle multiple account management projects at a time, while maintaining sharp
- attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and manage time effectively are imperative.
Education and Experience (Final Determination made by Hiring Manager) :
Bachelor’s degree preferred (10+ years of experience may qualify in lieu of degree)
Physical Requirements :
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee needs to have the ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb or lift up to 50 pounds.
The travel required for this position is about 50%.
