Practice Overview :

Ankura’s Data & Technology Practice includes client services in the areas of Analytics & Data Strategy, eDiscovery & Cyber Security.

Our Data & Technology team helps our internal and external customers design, execute and test cutting-edge solutions in each of our respective areas.

Role Overview : As a Data Engineering Lead in the Data Analytics & AI practice, you will play a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive our business forward.

The role works directly with the Data & Technology senior leadership team to provide solutions and collaboration regarding data engineering initiatives.

You will be instrumental in designing and implementing scalable data architectures, optimizing data flow and collection for cross-functional teams, and ensuring the integrity and availability of data.

This role will be remote, located in the United States.

Responsibilities :

  • Ensuring that our internal and external clients consider and are driving toward industry-leading data and tech enablement and leverage.
  • Responsible for spearheading new data architecture solutions and technological enhancements to support data-driven capabilities working closely with practice leaders.
  • Responsible for innovating and enhancing the D&T business group technological capabilities and offerings.
  • Designing data-centric products and services for the practice / company to help drive new revenue opportunities working closely with managing directors and the practice leader.
  • Providing guidance and oversight for development from design through implementation.
  • Working with practice architects / consultants to ensure the integration of new technologies and tech delivery processes in order to realize success.
  • Participating in project delivery to include managing teams that are responsible for client solutions, delivery, and support.
  • Guide and collaborate with Agile teams in designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting technical solutions using a range of full-stack development tools and technologies.
  • Work alongside a group of seasoned developers skilled in ML, microservices, and full-stack systems.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Java, Scala, Python, and engage with Open Source RDBMS, NoSQL databases, and cloud-based data warehousing services.
  • Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver robust, cloud-based solutions that empower millions with financial knowledge and tools.
  • Provide Data, architecture, and technology Subject Matter Expertise for all practice technologies and systems.
  • Ongoing responsibilities to partner with practice leadership to drive revenue and present cutting-edge solutions to clients.

Qualifications :

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the future.
  • BA / BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics or another analytical area.
  • 8+ years in Data Engineering.
  • Experience in Professional Services preferred.
  • 5+ years of application development experience, including proficiency in Python, SQL, Scala, or Java.
  • Technical Experience with the following :
  • Distributed data / computing tools such as Kafka, Spark.
  • Data warehousing experience with technologies like Redshift, Databricks, Synapse, Snowflake.
  • UNIX / Linux, including basic commands and shell scripting.
  • Container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated experience integrating metadata, observability and governance solutions (like Purview, Alation, Collibra) with data platforms.
  • Ability to travel 25%+ or as needed, dependent upon engagement(s).
