Promptu Systems Corporation seeks a talented, passionate software engineer with a minimum of four years' experience and a demonstrated ability to write and maintain robust commercial-grade software.
This position is located in our Menlo Park, CA, office.
Promptu is a leading developer of innovative human language technology-based services and products. Headquartered in Menlo Park, CA, with satellite offices in Gold Coast, Australia, Promptu builds natural language speech interfaces for the streaming media, automotive and other markets.
Our flagship product "Viewfinder" allows users to easily select movies and television series to watch and find where to stream them.
You will work with smart, creative engineers to invent, deploy and maintain the company's next-generation content discovery, speech recognition and natural language understanding technologies.

About the Role :
You will report to the Director of Voice Technologies.
Required skills and experience :
- Degree in Computer Science or Machine Learning
- Minimum four years experience in commercial software development and maintenance
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain production systems in the cloud
- Experience solving difficult problems at scale
- Strong Python and Java coding skills
- Demonstrated ability to efficiently manipulate large data sets using Pandas
- Ability to write efficient SQL queries
- Experience writing and maintaining Bash scripts
- Experience developing and deploying software on a Linux platform
- A drive to ship continuous improvements with production-quality, fully unit-tested code
- Excellent written and oral English communication skills
Programming Requirements :
- Python : 2 years (Required)
- Java : 1 year (Required)
- Pandas : 1 year (Required)
The ideal candidate will also have experience with some or all of the following :
- Building, testing and deploying software in the AWS ecosystem
- C / C++ coding skills
- Ability to apply machine learning tools to solve real-world problems
- Working knowledge of one or more machine learning frameworks
- Fluency in probability theory
Pay range and compensation package :
$120,000 - $190,000 per year
