Hospital in central AZ in need of travel support in their Med Surg Tele and Multi Care unit.
Job Requirements
- Will need to be able to read and interpret telemetry.
- May be asked to precept nursing students.
- Dysrhythmia exam on hire.
- Minimum of 1 year in MedSurg, prefer candidates with experience in telemetry.
- Must be willing to care for both MST / PCU patients.
Schedule Information
- 12-hour shifts, 0700 / 1900 1930 / 0730
- Every other weekend, Friday and Saturday for Nights, Saturday and Sunday for dayshift.
- Holiday rotation to distribute holidays fairly
- If low census, staff rotates standby turns. Travelers may or may not be in rotation for low census depending on contract.

- Number of beds : 30 (we have three 10-bed units)
- Ratios : 1 : 5-6
- Common diagnoses / Types of patients : Surgical, Medical, Telemetry
- Common titratable & / or set rate drips : n / a
- Are there nurse aids on this unit / Ratios
- RT Equipment (vents, Cpap, BiPap, etc)
Additional Details
- Charge RN manages 50 inpatient beds that include MST, PEDS, & our Acuity Adaptable MCU unit which admits ICU / PCU / MST
- NAs take 10-15 patients. If no NA RN takes 3 patients and Provides primary care.
- Care for stable c-pap or bi-pap patients
- Monitor Techs? RNs read strips? Yes. We have Remote Monitor Techs.
- RNs do need to be able to Read their Tele strips
- Floating Requirements : Float into our Multi Care Unit & Pediatric unit to care for adult MST, also float to our West Campus MedSurg Tele.
- Scrub Color / Dress Code : Currently can wear any scrub color except camouflage
- Unit / Department specific orientation : Attend hospital orientation, unit orientation based on experience.
- Must be willing to precept nursing students; EOW, Nights, Holiday Rotation
