About The Position
Job Title : Physical Therapist Assistant Job Specialty : Physical Therapy Job Duration : 20 weeks Shift : 8 : 00 AM - 4 : 30 PM, Monday - Friday Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum 1 year in an outpatient setting License : MO Physical Therapy Licensure Certifications : CPR Must-Have : - Strong communication and documentation skills - Experience in an outpatient setting Job Description : - Demonstrate competency in the application of hot and cold packs, whirlpools, and sterile technique in wound care procedures.
- Perform sharp wound debridements while adhering to blood-borne pathogen guidelines.- Show expertise in ultrasound, electrical stimulation, gait training, patient transfer techniques, and therapeutic exercise programs.
- Respond effectively to patient pain management needs during treatment, ensuring patient safety in all treatments.- Follow established treatment programs to assure safe and effective application, using appropriate age-specific techniques.
- Provide impartial and equal assistance and treatment to all patients.- Exhibit integrity, dependability, sound judgment, and resourcefulness.
- Document all communication in a readable manner using approved abbreviations.- Ensure progress notes reflect patient response to current treatment and status clearly and objectively.
- Complete all documentation within departmental time frames, noting changes in patient pain and actions taken.- Communicate effectively with patients, families, co-workers, supervising physical therapists, and department directors.
- Inform supervising physical therapists promptly of any adverse patient response to treatment.- Demonstrate the ability to delegate tasks appropriately.
