Job Title : Senior Business Operations Administrator
Department : ERIK Campus Chemical Instrument Center MS and P Facility
The Campus Chemical Instrument Center (CCIC) Senior Business Operations Administrator leads the business operations of the Center and assists the CCIC and Campus Microscopy and Imaging Facility (CMIF) management teams with the overall programmatic, fiscal, and operational administrative functions.
The overall fiscal administration of the CCIC and CMIF core facilities includes customer billing, procurement, policy development, travel coordination activities, developing and monitoring unit budgets, performing reconciliations, and providing fiscal analysis to Center leaders for planning purposes.
Serves as fiscal contact for internal and external customers. Completes routine work independently and works collaboratively with appropriate contacts in ERIK business office, Office of Sponsored Programs, Comprehensive Cancer Center, and fiscal service centers to solve routine and non-routine purchasing, fiscal, and other administrative issues and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
Supports Center leaders in reporting, rate studies, grant administration, event planning, and hiring activities. The individual in this position will serve as a resource for less experienced business operations staff and coordinate their work assignments.
This role will report to the CCIC Program Manager with indirect reporting to ERIK Finance & Business Administration.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree
Experience and Qualifications
Required : A Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
4-8 years of business experience in an administrative capacity is required. Reasonable knowledge of accounting fiscal and procurement principles.
Must have excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be self-motivated and resourceful with attention to detail.
Must have the ability and flexibility to work with a wide variety of customers. Reasonable knowledge of university fiscal policies and earnings unit activities.
Desired : Experience with Workday system and a fundamental understanding of database and reporting tools are strongly desired.
Experience in grants management with understanding of the pre-and post- award grant proposal processes.

This position can be hybrid with flexibility for some remote and on campus.
The mission of the Campus Chemical Instrument Center (CCIC) is to provide state-of-the-art research facilities in two primary areas : Mass Spectrometry and Proteomics (MSP) and Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR).
The facilities and resources are available to all scientists within and outside Ohio State. The CCIC MSP Facility provides state-of-the-art instrumentation and personnel expertise for proteomics, metabolomics, and general mass spec analyses.
The CCIC NMR Facility is a state-of-the-art campus-wide core facility that currently houses eight high resolution Bruker NMR spectrometers (600 to 850 MHz) with a range of capabilities : high-sensitivity cryoprobes for biomolecular studies, high throughput sample changers for metabolomics, solid state probes for biomolecules and materials, micro-imaging and diffusion.
CCIC also provides education and training opportunities and support for grant applications.
