Job Description

SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector is responsible for using various automated and manual inspection equipment to conduct automated and visual inspections of parts to ensure customer expectations for quality and delivery.

Additionally, this role executes internal audits to ensure the integrity and consistency of our production process.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and consults with management or engineering staff to establish quality and reliability standards.
  • Perform quality control inspections using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators.
  • Records measurement and inspection data, applying statistical quality control procedures.
  • Verifies incoming, in-process, and outgoing products.
  • Independently review characteristics of parts against engineering documentation to confirm overall conformance to part drawings.
  • Package conforming assemblies and components and complete all associated quality paperwork.
  • Create quality notifications within the ERP system by providing objective evidence to support rejection data and ensure the accuracy and completeness of the information.
  • Support stock sweep activities to ensure accurate and comprehensive containment of suspect or nonconforming material.
  • Support kaizen and related continuous improvement activities, including tier accountability processes.
  • Maintains a clean, organized work environment and adheres to all safety standards, procedures, and regulations.
  • Contributes to team effort in a collaborative and supportive manner.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • A high school diploma or equivalent, , GED, vocational school.
  • Technical Degree or Quality Certification preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment; inspection experience preferred.
  • Background in the medical industry, molding, printed circuit boards, or electronics businesses preferred.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Conversational in any other language is a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Basic arithmetic : add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

JOB SKILLS

  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, SAP preferred.
  • Experience with ISO-9001 and ISO-13485 standards, preferred.

Strong technical skills, including reading and understanding technical drawings.

  • Able to use a computer & software required for the role.
  • Demonstrates good judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be flexible and function comfortably in a fast-paced, constantly changing, and ambiguous environment while maintaining a positive team environment.
  • Reliable and flexible, willing to work additional hours on short notice to fulfill orders and meet customer demands.
  • Understanding and experience in a Lean manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects and 5S-related performance teams.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical requirements outlined below indicate those necessary to fulfill this position's core responsibilities. While performing job duties, the employee will regularly engage in activities such as using hands to finger, handle, or feel and communicating verbally.

Additionally, the employee will frequently need to reach with hands and arms while standing and walking as part of the role.

Occasional lifting and movement of objects weighing up to fifty (50) pounds and using a ladder may be required. This position also demands specific vision capabilities, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS

  • ASTM F 2412 2005, ANSI Z41 1999, or ANSI Z41 1991 rated safety toe shoes in specific areas.
  • Clear ANSI safety-rated glasses in specific areas.
  • Hearing protection in specific locations.
  • Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas.

SALARY INFORMATION

In compliance with CA state law, the hourly range for this position is $$ per hour. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only.
