RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Manage, plan and execute the purchasing of raw materials, components, and finished goods.
- Manage suppliers to determine which products will be used in production and how much of each item should be purchased.
- Coordinate the flow of information between different departments within the company (Finance, Sales, Scheduling, Production, etc.).
- Monitor and review ERP demand planning signals such as pull-ins, pushouts and cancellations.
- Adjusts supplier P.O.s and Production Schedules accordingly and as required.
- Notify Sales of potential delivery and / or cost impacts to customers.
- Communicate with suppliers by requesting quotes and placing purchase orders according to ERP requirements.
- Conduct supplier performance evaluations.
- Identify new suppliers or the need for additional suppliers.
- Coordinate with Quality supplier audits as required.
- Manage inventory by understanding and maintaining the minimum / maximum and lead-time requirements for all raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods inventory reports (analyze inventory levels against inventory target goals)
REQUIREMENTS :
- Bachelors degree in related field such as business administration and / or supply chain management.
- Ideally 2.5 - 4 years of Buyer / Purchasing experience from a Manufacturing environment required
- Experience working in an ERP system (Microsoft, Oracle, EPICOR, SAP or similar).
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access)
- Experience creating presentations and KPI reports for senior management.
