Leidos Defense Sector is seeking a talented Electrical System Design Engineer candidate to join a multidisciplinary team to create unique solutions to complex engineering challenges in our Huntsville, AL location.

Primary Responsibilities
As an essential part of our dynamic team developing advanced electrical system designs. You will analyze, design and integrate solutions that will successfully address a wide variety of customer challenges.
You will primarily be focused on electrical design and integration for the Enduring Shield ground based force protection system, but there are also opportunities to participate in design of electrical architectures and integrated systems for other mission-critical systems that include flight systems, sensors, ground vehicles, and space hardware.
Typical Responsibilities Include :
- System level electrical design including cable design specification and cable drawings
- Parts selection and derating activities
- New hardware design verification testing
- Support system level integration activities
- STE (Special Test Equipment) design and assembly
Basic Qualifications
- Candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited institution with
- Candidate must have 4+ years of relevant experience or 2+ years with MS degree
- Candidate must have experience in electronics design and test from architecture through implementation
- Position requires candidates to be capable of performing in a collaborative engineering environment working closely with multi-disciplinary teams
- Candidate must have demonstrated experience effectively communicating within a team environment
- Candidate must have hands-on laboratory experience with instrumentation, test equipment, and debug / test methods
- Cable design experience in Visio or Excel
- Candidates must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area
- Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance or meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience designing to IPC / WHMA-A-620 class 3 Standards
- Experience supporting cable production.
- Familiarity with mil-spec component selection including 38999 connectors, MS25036 ring terminals
- Familiarity with AS50881 NASA Derating Standard
- Cable design experience using Solidworks Electrical, Creo Schematic, Draftsight

Pay Range : Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00
