Network Engineer Portland OR

This is an on-site 1099 Contract role payable at $30 per hour

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Network Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of network design, and troubleshooting, and the ability to effectively collaborate with team members and subject matter experts (SMEs).

This customer-facing role requires excellent communication, technical, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to stay focused on team tasks.

Key Responsibilities :

• Engage in network troubleshooting discussions, following established processes to diagnose and resolve issues.
• Understand and work with basic network design principles, including access, distribution, and core layers.
• Collaborate with the end customer's SMEs and offshore teams to ensure efficient communication and task completion.
• Execute tasks within the assigned shift hours, ensuring all issues are resolved promptly and thoroughly.
• Provide clear and concise status updates to customers via email and through regular status reports.
• Maintain a strong focus on team issues without being easily distracted, ensuring continuous productivity and attention to detail.

Skills & Experience :

• Strong understanding of network troubleshooting and basic network design concepts, including the access, distribution, and core layers.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with internal and external teams, including SMEs and offshore resources.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage effectively with customers and team members.
• Ability to focus on team tasks and meet deadlines within the assigned work schedule.
• Proficient in documenting technical work and providing clear status updates to customers.

• Experience working in a team environment, balancing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
