BASIC FUNCTION ( the primary purpose of this position ) :

To perform the daily functions of the uniform program, maintaining the uniform par levels, and the uniform tracking system.

PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Promote a clean, safe, healthy and friendly work environment for employees and guests; report and direct safety issues to Safety Committee.
  • Regularly communicate with vendors on ordering, new products, production, etc.
  • Maintain communication with department managers about their departments inventory levels, and address uniform concerns or provide suggestions when needed.
  • Order new uniform pieces for all departments on property which are approved per individual department.
  • Input and track new / used uniform pieces in the system to maintain par levels and suggest uniform needs to department heads.
  • Manage and structure the day to ensure all regular tasks are completed, while remaining flexible when new requests are brought in.
  • Schedule and perform uniform fittings.
  • Schedule dry cleaning and general uniform laundry, and track data entry on a daily basis.
  • Tailoring or alterations, e.g., hemming, buttons, zippers, fixing curtains, robes and uniforms.
  • Ability to use sewing, embroidery & surging machines.
  • Steam various robes, garments, bed runners, sheers, etc.
  • Maintaining par levels of the uniform inventories, and reporting them to their respective departments when needed.
  • Performs or schedules maintenance checks and repairs of all equipment.
  • Examines finished products to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Maintains equipment and uniform supplies.
  • Performs other administrative duties to ensure efficient operation of the uniform program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS ( objective educational or technical training required; skills; and years of experience) :

  • Previous experience / skill in operating sewing machine required.
  • Previous experience / skill in operating other equipment in the seamstress / tailoring field, including but not limited to : serger and embroidery machine, preferred.
  • High school diploma or work experience in uniforms tailoring.
  • Need to have the ability to operate computer proficiently for productivity tracking and electronic communication.
  • MS Word and Excel experience preferred, but can be trained.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Ability to manage stress appropriately, make decisions under pressure, manages anger, fear, hostility and violence of others appropriately.

Ability to work weekends, holidays and evening hours as business demands.
