Training Specialist
As a member of the Organization & Professional Development team within the Office of Human Resources, this position will manage, coordinate and facilitate courses for university employees on a variety of topics and to support different programs, including new employee orientation, open enrollment courses covering a variety of topics, and leadership and manager development.
This position will work closely with team members as well as campus partners to ensure a positive and effective learning experience.
This position may also design, develop and implement training courses or programs in other human resource functional areas.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Experience in training, organizational development or professional development or an equivalent combination of education and experience to demonstrate required skills and knowledge.
Experience facilitating adult learning programs, both in-person and virtually, on topics such as new employee orientation, team development, communication skills, or conflict resolution, and using effective instructional techniques to engage participants and enhance learning outcomes.
Strong knowledge of instructional design methodologies. Experience managing programs and projects. Demonstrated ability to partner with others to guide projects to successful completion.
Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidential information. Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience Experience facilitating on topics such as leadership development and manager development.
Experience consulting with clients at all organizational levels to understand their learning and organizational development needs and assessing, designing and implementing interventions for departments, teams and individuals.
Proficiency in coaching individuals and managers at all organizational levels to include administering assessments. Experience administering Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), DiSC or other assessment instruments, delivering feedback and insights, and coaching for individual and team development and career growth.
