JOB DESCRIPTION
TITLE : Optometrist DEPARTMENT : Health
CLASSIFICATION : Exempt
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Perform comprehensive eye exams
- Complete necessary prescriptions for eye glasses and / or contact lenses
- Prescribe medications as needed
- Diagnose and assist in treatment of ocular eye disease
- Educate patients on eye health including disease management
- Pre- and post- operation care
- Work with other medical staff for coordination of care
- Electronic record charting for continuity of care
- Supervision of Opticians and other support staff
- Participates in operational aspects of the department and maintains department performance
- Clean and maintain daily equipment and seek service when needed
- Other duties as assigned.
