Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech with ARDMS or ARRT credentials and BLS for a float role with EPIC charting.
Responsibilities
Work primarily in a hospital radiology ultrasound department with potential floating to any location within a 60-mile float zonePerforms a variety of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, OB, head, extremity, retroperitoneal, small parts, vascular, and occasional cardiac studiesAdult and pediatric patient population10-hour day shifts with weekday and weekend on-call rotation per unit requirementsUses EPIC EMR for chartingResponsible for performing and producing quality ultrasound images and exams in a timely and accurate mannerPrepares patients for procedures and provides information and compassionate assistance throughout the processAssists with IV starts and contrast administration as requiredMaintains equipment, room cleanliness, technical operations, and documentation related to equipment maintenanceOn-call coverage required according to department and facility policyParticipates in department quality initiatives and accreditation processesNo local travelers permitted; candidates must live more than 60 miles from the facilityFlu vaccination required during flu season with case-by-case medical exemptions only; no religious exemptions allowedScrubs or professional attire required as per department policyOngoing education and in-service participation encouragedParticipation in clinical training for new staff and students may be expectedRequirements
HS diploma or GED requiredCurrent ARDMS (RDMS in OB / GYN, AB, BR, RVT, RDCS) or ARRT (R.T.(S), R.T.(S)(BS), R.T.(S)(VS)) certification requiredAmerican Heart Association BLS requiredAt least one year of ultrasound experience strongly preferredLicense required if applicableNo pending licenses allowed; all certifications must be current and activeMust be able to float within a 60-mile radius as assignedBenefits
